View Manager page 1

Use the View Manager page 1 to name the new view, to select the groups of fields to be used, and to select the databanks for which the view is to be defined. In addition, there is an option to delete an existing user-defined view.

See also "Using Views" in chapter 1, "SRS Quick Tour", of the SRS User Guide and chapter 5, "Views", of the SRS User Guide for examples of how to use this page.

View Manager Page 1 - Reference

Two separate pages are used to create views. The first ( Figure 5.1 ) is accessed directly using the Views tab and is described in this section. The second ( View Manager page 2) is used to specify further parameters and is accessed from the View Manager page 1.

Options Area

View Name

Enter a name for the new view in this text box. If no name is entered, SRS will create a default name. It is not possible for multiple views to share a single name.

Display Results As

Choose whether the new view you create will display the result in the format of a table or a list by selecting the preferred option. See also "Creating a View" in chapter 1, "SRS Quick Tour", of the SRS User Guide and "Creating Views" in chapter 5, "Views", of the SRS User Guide

Show Fields From

When a view is being defined for more than one databank this option controls the datafields that are displayed on View Manager page 2, and therefore controls the datafields that can be chosen for the new view. It is possible to include all the datafields that exist in any of the databanks (all fields in databanks), in which case it is possible to choose any of these fields for the final view. Alternatively, the datafield options can be restricted to those which are common to all the chosen databanks (just common fields).
