In addition to the other search methods, you can also browse the indices for a search term.

You can browse indices from the Field Information page for the datafield type (e.g., Description, SeqLength) that interests you. See section 3.7.3 "Getting to the Field Information Page" for more details of how to get to this page.

Getting to the Field Information Page |
|
There are a number of routes you can use to get to the Field Information page. The common routes are detailed here.
From the Query Forms
On the Standard Query Form there is an

Here you will see a list of the available databanks. Clicking on the hyperlink for a databank will take you to its Databank Information page. This contains a section listing the datafields for the relevant databank.

Note:SWISSPROT is a virtual databank. This means it is made up from other databanks, e.g. SWISSPROT (Release) and SWISSPROT (Updates). If you look at the Databank Information page for SWISSPROT you will not see all the information that is shown in Figure 3.29 , if you want all the detail, you need to look at the individual component databanks.
