RPMI 1640 + 2mM Glutamine + 10% Fetal Bovine Serum (FBS). Maintain cultures between 2-9x100,000 cells/ml; 5% CO2; 37C. Will increase 12 fold within 10-14 days provided fresh medium is added at 48-72 hour intervals.
Karyotype: 2n = 46, diploid
Derived from 16-yr old male Negro. Positive for EBNA, carries EBV markers, Complement Receptors, surface bound immunoglobulin and surface markers for Fc fragment of IgG. The cells should be handled under laboratory containment level 2.
