From human amnion tissue. Contaminated with HeLa cells. Have been used in virus studies; susceptible to VSV (Indiana), adenovirus 3 and poliovirus. Useful in differentiating virulent and avirulent measles virus. HeLa marker chromosomes and type A G6PD This cell line was found to have a HeLa profile by DNA fingerprinting.
