EMEM (EBSS) + 2mM Glutamine + 1% Non Essential Amino Acids (NEAA) + 10mM Hepes + 10% Fetal Bovine Serum (FBS). Split confluent cultures 1:3 to 1:6 i.e. seeding at 2-4x10,000 cells/cm2 using 0.25% trypsin or trypsin/EDTA; Hepes; 37C.
Karyotype: 2n = 46, diploid
Established from normal lung tissue of a 14 week old male foetus. The cells undergo between 60-70 population doublings before senescence. The virus susceptibility of this line is similar to WI-38. This cell line is supplied on a standing order basis.
