The Interlab Cell Line Collection

The bank of biological material "Interlab Cell Line Collection" (ICLC) was set up in 1994 within the Biotechnology Department of the Istituto Nazionale per la Ricerca sul Cancro and operates at the Advanced Biotechnology Center of Genoa. The activities of the collection include storage, quality control and distribution of certified human and animal cell lines. ICLC offers specific services: safe deposit of cell lines; species confirmation by isoenzyme analysis and PCR; mycoplasma detection by fluorescence, enzymatic assay and PCR; mycoplasma eradication; production of EBV cell lines.

The ICLC is recognized as an International Deposit Authority under the Budapest Treaty by the World Intellectual Property Organization, Geneva. Animal cell lines, including cells of human origin and hybridomas, are accepted for patent deposit.
