Description: mouse hybridoma cells are a subclone derived from B13.29 (first described as clone 9.9) by fusion of BALB/c spleen cells with SP2/0-AG14 myeloma cells; this hybridoma is a non-producer; cells are IL6-dependent confirmed as mouse with IEF of AST, PEP B

90% RPMI 1640 + 10% FBS + 50 覡 mercaptoethanol + 50 pg/ml human IL-6 split saturated culture 1:3 to 1:4 every 2-3 days; seed out at ca. 0.5 x 106 cells/ml, best in 24- or 6-well plate at 37C with 5% CO2 maximal density at about 0.8 x 106 cells/ml; doubling time of ca. 30-40 hours; frozen with 70% medium, 20% FBS, 10% DMSO at about 4 x 106 cells/ampoule; negative in DAPI, microbiological culture, RNA hybridization, PCR assays;
Validated by: cytogenetics 1 (apparently murine chromosome morphology with extensive centric fusions) * reverse transcriptase (reverse transcriptase negative)
