This is the complete description of the cell line that you selected.
By clicking on a generic term (e.g., SPECIES) you will go to the corresponding index (e.g., index of species), while by clicking on a specific term (e.g., retinoblastoma) you will go to the list of corresponding cell lines (e.g., retionoblastoma cell lines).

Depositor: Dr G Williams, Haylor Dana Institute for Disease Prevention, New York, USA
No restrictions. Patent: None Specified By Depositor
Properties: Applications: Carcinogenesis and tumourigenicity studies
Available in the following LABORATORY:
Part of the Business Division of the Health Protection Agency (ECACC, Salisbury, Wiltshire)
DMEM + 2mM Glutamine + 10% Fetal Bovine Serum (FBS). Split confluent cells 1:3 to 1:6 i.e. 2-4x10,000 cells/cm2 using 0.25% trypsin or trypsin/EDTA; 5% CO2; 37C.
Derived from the liver of a Wistar rat and is useful in quantitative carcinogenesis studies. Inoculation into new born rats is more sensitive than nude mice for detection of tumorigenicity of rat liver lines.
