Morphology: lymphoblastoid, single or clumped cells in suspension
Description: human B-lymphoblastoid cells (from patient with multiple myeloma) established from the bone marrow of a woman with multiple myeloma in 1967; cells were described to synthesize IgG and to have receptors for insulin and calcitonin; cells express bcl-2 mRNA; cells appear to be rather 'EBV+ B-lymphoblastoid cells' than myeloma-derived cells (see also Pellat-Deceunynk et al., Blood 86: 4001-4002, 1995) confirmed as human with IEF of AST, MDH, NP, PEP B
