90% Dulbecco's MEM + 10% FBS + 1x non-essential amino acids split culture 1:4 about once a week using trypsin/EDTA, cells do not grow to confluence and grow rather slowly; seed out at ca. 1 x 106 cells/25 cm 2 at 37C with 5% CO2 about 8 x 106 cells/75 cm 2 ; maximal density at ca. 20 x 106 cells/175 cm 2;
doubling time of ca. 70 hours;
frozen with 70% medium, 20% FBS, 10% DMSO at about 2 x 106 cells/ampoule;
negative in DAPI, microbiological culture, RNA hybridization, PCR assays;
Validated by: isoenzymes (confirmed as mouse with IEF of AST, MDH, NP, PEP B) * reverse transcriptase (reverse transcriptase negative)

TUMOR: neuroblastoma
DEPOSITOR: Dr G. Angelini, Biotechnology Dept, IST at ABC, Genoa, Italy
Cell line available for distribution upon consent of the depositor. For non-commercial investigative use only
PROPERTIES: the cells are reported to produce large quantities of microtubular protein, which plays a role in a contractile system which is responsible for axoplasmic flow in nerve cells
