Available in the following LABORATORY:

• Part of the Business Division of the Health Protection Agency (ECACC, Salisbury, Wiltshire)
  RPMI 1640 + 2mM Glutamine + 10% Fetal Bovine Serum (FBS). Maintain cultures between 4-9x100,000 cells/ml; 5% CO2; 37C. When in culture, stand flask up until cells show growth in large clumps. After approximately 3 days the flask can be laid down.
  Karyotype: 2n = 46, hypertriploid
  Established from a primary tumour of the right eye of a 2 1/2 year old female Caucasian. The cells grow in clusters and exhibit reverse transcriptase activity.

  RPMI 1640 + 2mM L-Glutamine + 15% FBS; Freezing medium: 90% FBS + 10% DMSO; maintain cultures between 5-9 x 10^5 cells/ml; split 1:2-1:4 (not disaggregate the clusters); 37C, 5% CO2. After thawing the viability of the cells may be low (thaw with medium supplemented with 20% FBS). , mycoplasma negative, HOECHST and PCR
  In order to obtain a cell monolayer the surface of the flask must be coated with poly-D-lysine 2.5 ug/cm2
