Fischer's + 2mM Glutamine + 10% Horse Serum (HS) or ATCC CRCM30 + 10% Horse Serum (HS). Maintain cultures between 5x10,000 to 8x100,000 cells/ml; 5% CO2; 37C.
Passages: 380;
Karyotype: 2n = 40, diploid
Established from a tumour induced in an 8 month old female 234 sub-line 212 of a DBA mouse. Originally sub-cultured in DBA/2 mice it was adapted to suspension culture. The line has been extensively used in cytotoxicity assays. Develops massive tumours in nude mice after a latent period of 7-10 days.
