This is the complete description of the cell line that you selected. By clicking on a generic term (e.g., SPECIES) you will go to the corresponding index (e.g., index of species), while by clicking on a specific term (e.g., retinoblastoma) you will go to the list of corresponding cell lines (e.g., retionoblastoma cell lines).

LCL-HO (human, lymphoblastoid B cell, melanoma)

SPECIES: human
TISSUE/ORGAN: lymphoblastoid B cell
TUMOR: melanoma

DSMZ catalog code: ACC 185
Morphology: lymphoblastoid-like cells growing in suspension singly or in clumps
TRANSFORMED BY: Epstein-Barr
Description: human B-lymphoblastoid cells (from patient with melanoma) this lymphoblastoid cell line was established by EBV transformation of peripheral blood lymphocytes; cell line was submitted as autologous to cell line MEL-HO (DSM ACC 62) that was derived from a woman with primary melanoma in 1976; however, cytogenetic and DNA fingerprinting analysis showed clearly that LCL-HO and MEL-HO are not related confirmed as human with IEF of AST, MDH
Viruses: ELISA: reverse transcriptase negative; PCR: EBV+, HBV-, HCV-, HIV-, HTLV-I/II-
Depositor: Dr. H. W. L. Ziegler-Heitbrock, University of Munich, Institute of Immunology, Munich, Germany
