Starting an SRS Project

See "SRS Projects" - Chapter 2 for more information.

  1. When you access SRS the Start page is usually shown first. From here you can start a permanent project, do a quick search (if you have the relevant databanks installed on your installation) or access the online help files.
Note: Your SRS Administrator should be able to give you the web address of your local server, or of an external site to which you have access.

Note: This page is almost identical to the SRS Quick Search page, that will be introduced shortly. The main difference is that where the Start page has a link to allow you to start a permanent project, the SRS Quick Search page displays the current project ID.

  1. For this tour a temporary project will be used. Such a project will be started for you as soon as you start to make a query or select a databank; you do not need to start a temporary project explicitly.
