Molecular Probe Data Base

The Molecular Probe Data Base (MPDB) contains information on synthetic oligonucleotides with a sequence of up to 100 nucleotides. Data are mainly taken from the literature and are encoded on the basis of controlled vocabularies.
MPDB is searchable through the following SRS server (where it is called MOLPROBE):

MOLPROBE flat file and the configuration files which are requested for installing it in an SRS implementation are available on request.

  • 821 different genes, of which 691 human and 112 viral
  • ca. 3536 oligonucleotides are human gene specific
  • ca. 620 oligonucleotides are viral gene specific
