This is the complete description of the cell line that you selected.
By clicking on a generic term (e.g., SPECIES) you will go to the corresponding index (e.g., index of species), while by clicking on a specific term (e.g., retinoblastoma) you will go to the list of corresponding cell lines (e.g., retionoblastoma cell lines).
ICLC catalog code: HTL03003
Continuous culture, grown as monolayer
TISSUE/ORGAN: kidney, embryonic
TRANSFORMED BY: adenovirus 5
DEPOSITOR: Obtained from ECACC
Cell line available for distribution. For non-commercial investigative use only
Available in the following LABORATORY:
- IRCCS Ospedale Policlinico San Martino (ICLC, Genova)
DMEM + 10% FBS + 2mM L-Glutamine + 1% non-essential amino acids; Freezing medium: 90% FBS + 10% DMSO; Split cultures 1:3-1:6 using trypsin/EDTA; 37°C, 5% CO2. The viability may be low after thawing and the cells may take up to 7 days to attach. The cells should be frozen at not less than 8 x 10^6 /ampoule and thawed with 20% FBS, mycoplasma negative, HOECHST and PCR
Handle as Biosafety Level 2 containment
Validated by: Multiplex PCR (tested against human, rat, mouse primers. Confirmed as human with cytochrome c oxidase subunit I (cox I) primers)
