This is the complete description of the cell line that you selected.
By clicking on a generic term (e.g., SPECIES) you will go to the corresponding index (e.g., index of species), while by clicking on a specific term (e.g., retinoblastoma) you will go to the list of corresponding cell lines (e.g., retionoblastoma cell lines).
TISSUE/ORGAN: mammary gland

Available in the following LABORATORY:
Part of the Business Division of the Health Protection Agency (ECACC, Salisbury, Wiltshire)
EMEM (EBSS) + 2mM Glutamine + 1% Non Essential Amino Acids (NEAA) + 10% Fetal Bovine Serum (FBS). Split confluent cultures 1:3 to 1:6 i.e. seeding at 2-4x10,000 cells/cm2 using 0.25% trypsin or trypsin/EDTA; 5% CO2; 37C. Cells grow partly in suspension, therefore spin down supernatant at time of subculture to collect the cells.
Karyotype: 2n = 41
In form of tumorigenic ascites shows diminished expression of histocompatibility antigens and readily overcomes histoincompatibility barriers. Immunoresistant TA3/Ha sub-line arose spontaneously without subjection to any known immunological selection pressure.
Research council deposit: No;
