This is the complete description of the cell line that you selected.
By clicking on a generic term (e.g., SPECIES) you will go to the corresponding index (e.g., index of species), while by clicking on a specific term (e.g., retinoblastoma) you will go to the list of corresponding cell lines (e.g., retionoblastoma cell lines).
SPECIES: mouse / mouse
DSMZ catalog code: ACC 232
Morphology: single, round cells in suspension; some cells are loosely adherent (detachable by shaking the flask)
Description: mouse hybridoma (anti-rat fiber/myosin) described as secreting a mouse monoclonal antibody (IgM) reacting with all adult rat type 2 fibers in immunofluorescence and with all adult rat type 2 MHCs (myosin heavy chain) in Western blotting; recognizing also rat neonatal fibers in immunofluorescence and rat neonatal MHCs in Western blotting; established in 1985 by fusion of NSO myeloma cells with spleen cells from a BALB/c mouse immunized with purified myosin from bovine subcutaneous muscle confirmed as mouse with IEF of AST, NP, PEP B
Viruses: ELISA: reverse transcriptase negative
Depositor: Prof. S. Schiaffino, University of Padova, Padova, Italy
Available in the following LABORATORY:

90% Dulbecco's MEM (4.5 g/L glucose) + 10% horse serum + 2 mM L-glutamine maintain at 0.7-1.0 x 106 cells/ml; split saturated culture at 1:2 to 1:3 every 2 day (maximal split ratio of 1:5) at 37C with 5% CO2 maximal density at about 2.0 x 106 cells/ml;
doubling time of ca. 23 hours;
frozen with 70% medium, 20% horse serum, 10% DMSO at about 4 x 106 cells/ampoule;
negative in DAPI, microbiological culture, RNA hybridization assays;
Validated by: immunological analysis (secretion of a mouse IgM monoclonal antibody) * isoenzymes (confirmed as mouse with IEF of AST, NP, PEP B) * reverse transcriptase (reverse transcriptase not detected)
