This is the complete description of the cell line that you selected.
By clicking on a generic term (e.g., SPECIES) you will go to the corresponding index (e.g., index of species), while by clicking on a specific term (e.g., retinoblastoma) you will go to the list of corresponding cell lines (e.g., retionoblastoma cell lines).

RPMI 1640 + 2mM Glutamine + 10% Fetal Bovine Serum (FBS). Split confluent cultures 1:3 to 1:6 i.e. seeding at 2-4x10,000 cells/cm2 using 0.25% trypsin or trypsin/EDTA; 5% CO2; 37C.
Karyotype: Hypertriploid, modal no 78
Derived from an epidermoid carcinoma of the cervix metastatic to the small bowel mesentery of a 40 year old Caucasian. Ca Ski cells secrete the ß subunit of human chorionic gonadotropin (ß-h Ch), express tumour-associated antigen and GbPD type B. Ca Ski cells have been reported to contain an integrated human papilloma virus 16 genome (HPV-16 about 600 copies per cell) and HPV-18 related sequences.
