This is the complete description of the cell line that you selected.
By clicking on a generic term (e.g., SPECIES) you will go to the corresponding index (e.g., index of species), while by clicking on a specific term (e.g., retinoblastoma) you will go to the list of corresponding cell lines (e.g., retionoblastoma cell lines).

DMEM + 2mM Glutamine + 1% Non Essential Amino Acids (NEAA) + 10% Fetal Bovine Serum (FBS). Split confluent cultures 1:3 to 1:6 i.e. seeding at 2-4x10,000 cells/cm2 using 0.25% trypsin/EDTA; 5% CO2; 37C.
Karyotype: 66-68 Aneuploidic, pentasomy #7, multiple trisomy
Spontaneously transformed cells from a male patient with epithelioid sarcoma derived from bone marrow metastasis. Cells grow very rapidly and secrete GM-CSF. They have been shown to express AE-1 and AE-3 cytokeratins, epithelial membrane antigen, p53, human Fas and vimentin. VA-ES-BJ cells are sensitive to oxidising agents, busulfaxamine and protoporphyrin IX.
