This is the complete description of the cell line that you selected.
By clicking on a generic term (e.g., SPECIES) you will go to the corresponding index (e.g., index of species), while by clicking on a specific term (e.g., retinoblastoma) you will go to the list of corresponding cell lines (e.g., retionoblastoma cell lines).
SPECIES: mouse / mouse
DSMZ catalog code: ACC 217
Morphology: single, round cells in suspension
Description: mouse hybridoma (anti-rat fiber/myosin) described as secreting a mouse monoclonal antibody (IgG 1 ) reacting with adult rat skeletal muscle type 2A (but not 2B) fibers in immunofluorescence and with undigested type 2A MHCs (myosin heavy chain) as well as both rod and light meromyosin fragments in Western blotting; rat neonatal and embryonic MHCs were not studied by Western blotting; established in 1985 by fusion of NSO myeloma cells with spleen cells from a BALB/c mouse immunized with purified myosin from bovine subcutaneous muscle confirmed as mouse with IEF of NP, PEP B
Viruses: ELISA: reverse transcriptase negative
Depositor: Prof. S. Schiaffino, University of Padova, Padova, Italy

90% Dulbecco's MEM (4.5 g/L glucose) + 10% FBS + 2 mM L-glutamine maintain at 0.1-0.5 x 106 cells/ml; split saturated culture at 1:5 to 1:10 every 2-5 days at 37C with 5% CO2 maximal density at about 1.5-2.0 x 106 cells/ml;
doubling time of ca. 20 hours;
frozen with 70% medium, 20% FBS, 10% DMSO at about 5 x 106 cells/ampoule;
negative in DAPI, microbiological culture, RNA hybridization assays;
Validated by: cytogenetics 1 (murine karyotype) * immunological analysis (secretion of a mouse IgG1 monoclonal antibody) * isoenzymes (confirmed as mouse with IEF of NP, PEP B) * reverse transcriptase (reverse transcriptase not detected)
