This is the complete description of the cell line that you selected.
By clicking on a generic term (e.g., SPECIES) you will go to the corresponding index (e.g., index of species), while by clicking on a specific term (e.g., retinoblastoma) you will go to the list of corresponding cell lines (e.g., retionoblastoma cell lines).

The R74 line was derived by co-cultivation of 18 day-old Lewis rat embryonic fibroblasts with cells of a chicken Rous sarcoma virus-33 (RSV-33). This cell population is clearly distinguishable from RT1 and R9 as it is characterised by the presence of fibroblastoid cells that tend to round up and form clusters of refractile cells. R74 is also tumourigenic in chickens and rats.
