MIA-Pa-Ca-2 is an established cell line from an undifferentiated human pancreatic carcinoma. The tumour was taken from a 65 year old Caucasian male. The cells are large with abundant cytoplasm, exhibit a high degree of aneuploidy, have a tendency to grow on top of other cells, eventually growing free in suspension. Sensitive to L-Asparaginase.
