This is the complete description of the cell line that you selected.
By clicking on a generic term (e.g., SPECIES) you will go to the corresponding index (e.g., index of species), while by clicking on a specific term (e.g., retinoblastoma) you will go to the list of corresponding cell lines (e.g., retionoblastoma cell lines).

Properties: Applications: This cell line can be used to study m1 mAChR in cells devoid of other muscarinic receptor subtypes.
Available in the following LABORATORY:
Part of the Business Division of the Health Protection Agency (ECACC, Salisbury, Wiltshire)
Ham's F12 + 2mM Glutamine + 50-100µg/ml G418 + 10% Fetal Bovine Serum (FBS). Split confluent cultures 1:4 to 1:8 i.e. seeding at 1-2x10,000 cells/cm2 using 0.25% trypsin or trypsin/EDTA; 5% CO2; 37C.
Derived in 1990 by transfecting Chinese Hamster ovary CHOK-1 cells with the gene encoding rat m1 muscarinic acetylcholine receptor (mAChR) in the mammalian expression vector, pSVL. These cells were then co-transfected with pMSVNeo and selected for growth in selection medium containing 500µg/ml G418. The cells are reported to express 800fmol of receptor/mg of membrane protein.
