This is the complete description of the cell line that you selected.
By clicking on a generic term (e.g., SPECIES) you will go to the corresponding index (e.g., index of species), while by clicking on a specific term (e.g., retinoblastoma) you will go to the list of corresponding cell lines (e.g., retionoblastoma cell lines).

90-92.5% RPMI 1640 + 7.5-10% FBS split saturated culture 1:2 to 1:3 every second day; maintain at about 1-1.5 x 106 cells/ml; seed out at ca. 1-2 x 106 cells/ml; maximum density at ca. 3 x 106 cells/ml at 37C with 5% CO2 cell harvest of ca. 2 x 106 cells/ml;
doubling time of ca. 40 hours;
frozen with 70% medium, 20% FBS, 10% DMSO at about 5 x 106 cells/ampoule;
contamination was eliminated with Baytril (enrofloxacin), then negative in DAPI, microbiological culture, RNA hybridization, PCR assays;
Validated by: cytogenetics 1 (pseudodiploid karyotype with 12% polyploidy; 46(43-46)<2n>X, -Y, +mar, t(8;9)(p11;p24), der(18)t(X;18)(p11;q11); resembles published karyotype; t(X;18) identical to that found in soft tissue sarcomas) * DNA fingerprinting (unique Hinf-(gtg)5 DNA profile) * immunological analysis (CD2- CD3+ CD4+ CD5+ CD6- CD7+ CD8- CD13- CD19- TCR /beta+) * isoenzymes (confirmed as human with IEF of AST, MDH, NP) * reverse transcriptase (reverse transcriptase not detected; negative for HTLV-I/II, HIV-1)
