This is the complete description of the cell line that you selected.
By clicking on a generic term (e.g., SPECIES) you will go to the corresponding index (e.g., index of species), while by clicking on a specific term (e.g., retinoblastoma) you will go to the list of corresponding cell lines (e.g., retionoblastoma cell lines).
TISSUE/ORGAN: peripheral blood
TUMOR: lymphoma, histiocytic
DSMZ catalog code: ACC 30
Morphology: single, round to oval cells in suspension
Description: human histiocytic lymphoma (derivative of U-937) supposedly 'established from the peripheral blood of a 37-year-old man with chronic myeloid leukemia (CML) in myelomonocytic blast crisis in 1984'; however, DSMZ DNA fingerprinting and cytogenetic analysis established unequivocally that JOSK-I, JOSK-M and U-937 are identical; thus, JOSK-M is clearly a derivative of U-937 confirmed as human with IEF of G6PD, MDH, NP
Viruses: ELISA: reverse transcriptase negative; PCR: EBV-, HBV-, HCV-, HHV-8-, HIV-, HTLV-I/II-
Depositor: Dr. J. Minowada, Fujisaki Cell Center, Okayama, Japan
Available in the following LABORATORY:
German Collection of Microorganisms and Cell Cultures (DSMZ, Braunschweig)
90% RPMI 1640 + 10% FBS maintain at 0.2-0.3 x 106 cells/ml, subculture at a 1:4 to 1:5 dilution at 37C with 5% CO2 cells grow up to about 2 x 106 cells/ml;
frozen with 70% medium, 20% FBS, 10% DMSO at about 5 x 106 cells/ampoule;
negative in DAPI, micobiological culture, RNA hybridization assays;
Validated by: cytogenetics 1 (hyperdiploid (4% polyploidy); 55(51-57)<2n>XXY, +X, +3, +7, +8, +19, +20, +3m, t(1;5;7)(p21-22;q35;p11), der(3)t(1;3)(q21;q26-27), der(6)t(6;?)(p25;?), der(10)t(10;?)(p13;?), del(11)(q22-23), der(12)t(12;?)(p13;?), der(15)t(15;?)) * DNA fingerprinting (unique Hinf I-(gtg)5 DNA profile, but identical fingerprints of cell lines JOSK-I, JOSK-K, JOSK-M, JOSK-S and U-937) * immunological analysis (CD3- CD13+ CD14- CD15+ CD19- CD33+ HLA-DR+) * isoenzymes (confirmed as human with IEF of G6PD, MDH, NP)
