This is the complete description of the cell line that you selected.
By clicking on a generic term (e.g., SPECIES) you will go to the corresponding index (e.g., index of species), while by clicking on a specific term (e.g., retinoblastoma) you will go to the list of corresponding cell lines (e.g., retionoblastoma cell lines).

No restrictions. Patent: This material is cited in a US and/or other Patent and may not be used to infringe parent claims.
Properties: Products: Alpha-foetoproteins, Hepatitis B Surface Antigen (HBsAG), albumin, transferrin, fibrinogen, complement (C3), alpha-2-macroglobulins
Available in the following LABORATORY:
Part of the Business Division of the Health Protection Agency (ECACC, Salisbury, Wiltshire)
EMEM (EBSS) + 2mM Glutamine + 1% Non Essential Amino Acids (NEAA) + 10% Fetal Bovine Serum (FBS). Split confluent cultures 1:3 to 1:6 i.e. seeding at 1-3x10,000 cells/cm2 using 0.25% trypsin or trypsin/EDTA; 5% CO2; 37C.
Karyotype: 2n = 46, modal No 60
Derived from 8-year-old Negro male. Cells contain integrated Hepatitis B virus genome. However there is currently no evidence that this cell line produces infectious Hepatitis B virus. The cells should be handled under laboratory containment level 2.
