This is the complete description of the cell line that you selected.
By clicking on a generic term (e.g., SPECIES) you will go to the corresponding index (e.g., index of species), while by clicking on a specific term (e.g., retinoblastoma) you will go to the list of corresponding cell lines (e.g., retionoblastoma cell lines).

Available in the following LABORATORY:
German Collection of Microorganisms and Cell Cultures (DSMZ, Braunschweig)
90% Ham's F12 + 10% FBS split confluent culture 1:5 to 1:8 every 5-7 days (cells grow slowly) using trypsin/EDTA; seed out at ca. 2-3 x 106 cells/80 cm 2 at 37C with 5% CO2 harvest of about 7-10 x 106 cells/80 cm 2 flask;
doubling time of ca. 37 hours;
frozen with 70% medium, 20% FBS, 10% DMSO at about 2-3 x 106 cells/ampoule;
negative in DAPI, microbiological culture, RNA hybridization assays;
Validated by: cytogenetics 1 (hypotriploid without sharp mode; an unusual high level of spontaneous aberrations was observed; 63-68<3n>) * DNA fingerprinting (confirmed as HELA-derivative using Hinf I-(gtg)5 fingerprinting) * immunological analysis (cytokeratin++ (100%) desmin- endothel- GFAP- neurofilament- vimentin++ (100%)) * isoenzymes (confirmed as human with IEF of AST, MDH) * reverse transcriptase (reverse transcriptase negative)
