Ham's F10 + 2mM Glutamine + 15% Horse Serum (HS) + 2.5% Fetal Bovine Serum (FBS). Split confluent cultures 1:2 to 1:4 i.e. seeding at 2-4x10,000 cells/cm2 using 0.25% trypsin/EDTA; 5% CO2; 37C. Upon thawing, time before the 1st subculture can be performed may be extended (10-15 days).

Derived from a 7 month female Wistar-Furth rat. Cells produce growth hormone faster than GH1amd also produces prolactin. Hydrocortisone stimulates growth hormone production and inhibits prolactin production. Studies have shown that cells are capable of adaptation to suspension culture using MEM.
