This is the complete description of the cell line that you selected.
By clicking on a generic term (e.g., SPECIES) you will go to the corresponding index (e.g., index of species), while by clicking on a specific term (e.g., retinoblastoma) you will go to the list of corresponding cell lines (e.g., retionoblastoma cell lines).

NCTC 135 + 2mM Glutamine + 10% Fetal Bovine Serum (FBS). Split confluent cultures 1:2 to 1:3 i.e. seeding at 3-5x10,000 cells/cm2 using 0.25% trypsin or trypsin/EDTA; 5% CO2; 37C. Media change 3 times a week.
Karyotype: 2n = 40
Established from the explant of 7 day old tumour from the parental Ehrlich-Lettre Ascites carcinoma. Prior to development, strain E was subjected to a schedule of seven mouse passages and six in vitro passages over a period of 17 months. The cells exhibit an unusually high mean chromosome number and possess the marker chromosomes present in the parental Ehrlich tumour. This cell line may be of use in comparative testing of anti tumour agents in vivo and in vitro.
